TXproducts Handbook of the Rules

Project: LinkedIn Communication · for all TXproducts Page admins · how LinkedIn's connection, messaging, and Page mechanics actually work, reference this before assuming, update as new rules get confirmed.

Directory View Outreach Board Handbook of the Rules
Summary: everything below comes from directly testing and verifying LinkedIn's actual behavior this campaign. The short version:
  • The TXproducts Page can never connect or message someone as itself, only as whichever admin's personal profile is doing the outreach, even when reached through the Page's admin/follower tools.
  • A connection request only changes degree once it's accepted, not when sent. Message (free, unlimited) only unlocks at 1st degree.
  • Personal outreach to existing followers (see the Outreach Board) builds relationships and content engagement, it does not add to the TXproducts follower count.
  • The free lever that does grow TXproducts followers is inviting your own personal connections to follow the Page. Restrictions like this are deliberate, LinkedIn keeps Pages from mass-contacting people to avoid turning the platform into a spam channel.
  • Premium Company Page (paid) is a "polish and light nudge" tier, not a real growth engine. The actual scalable growth product is Sponsored Content / Campaign Manager (LinkedIn Ads), a much bigger paid tier worth a real budget conversation.

Company Page vs. Personal Profile

Pages have followers, never connectionsConnection degree (1st/2nd/3rd) is exclusively a personal-profile concept. A Company Page cannot have a degree relationship with anyone, no matter the plan.
Admin tools show your own personal relationship, not the Page'sWhen any admin goes to Manage Company → the TXproducts admin dashboard → and clicks into a follower's profile, they're browsing as themselves. The Connect/Message buttons and mutual-connection list shown there belong to that admin personally, not TXproducts.
What the Page can do as itselfReply to comments on TXproducts posts, and reply to messages a visitor initiates toward the Page. It cannot proactively message or connect with a follower first, there is no outbound admin inbox for that.

Connection Degree Rules

Connection RequestFree on any account tier. Attaches a short note (~200-character limit). Only changes degree to 1st once the person accepts it, sending it alone does nothing.
Message (direct)Free and unlimited in length, but only available once you're 1st degree with someone.
InMailPaid, via Premium or Sales Navigator. Lets you message someone who isn't 1st degree yet, skipping the connect step entirely. Not used in this campaign's outreach, connection requests are free and work fine at this scale.

What Actually Grows TXproducts Followers

Why the restrictions above exist: LinkedIn deliberately keeps Company Pages from messaging or bulk-inviting people, letting pages mass-contact anyone would turn the platform into a spam channel fast. That is a design choice, not a gap a paid plan fills.
Free, available nowAs a Page admin, you can invite your own 1st-degree connections to follow the Page. This is the real mechanism linking personal outreach to Page growth: connect with someone → if they weren't already following, invite them → or if they mention colleagues, connect with those colleagues and invite them too.
Paid, polish tierPremium Company Page adds: auto-inviting people who engage with your posts to follow the Page, reaching followers of similar company pages, page-visitor insights (who viewed the Page), a custom call-to-action button, and AI-assisted post drafting. This is a "polish and light nudge" tier, not a real growth engine, and it's a budget conversation, not something built into this dashboard.
Paid, the actual scalable growth productSponsored Content / Campaign Manager (LinkedIn Ads) is what LinkedIn actually sells for growing an audience at scale: paid promotion targeting people who don't follow you yet, by role, industry, seniority, and more. This is a different, much bigger paid tier than Premium Company Page, and the one worth a real budget conversation if the goal is growing TXproducts followers at scale rather than one relationship at a time.
Organic, already trackedContent quality and posting frequency drive organic reach and follows, this is what the Dashboard's Content and Growth tabs already measure.
